On October 1, 2009, multi-platinum selling country music artist Clay Walker will once again join the list of celebrity golfers in the pro-am Alfred Dunhill Links Championship tournament in Scotland. Walker will flex his eight-handicap skills alongside bold face names and music legends including Hugh Grant, George Lopez, Greg Kinnear, Huey Lewis, Don Felder (The Eagles) and Tico Torres (Bon Jovi), among others.
Clay Walker is a true fan favorite with a devoted legion of fans across the country. He made his country music debut in 1993 with his smash hit “What’s It To You,” which quickly climbed to #1 on the Billboard charts. Since then, he has sold over 11 million albums, had 11 #1 hit singles, with four RIAA platinum and two gold certified albums under his belt. Now a Curb Records recording artist, Walker is currently working on his highly anticipated new studio album due early 2010 and will release a new original holiday single this November.
Outside of the stage and studio, Walker is the founder of Band Against MS, Inc., (BAMS) a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity committed to providing educational and funding programs for those living with multiple sclerosis, and funding programs researching a cure for the disease. Walker established BAMS in 2003 with the goal of helping others living with the same disease he has battled since 1996. To date, BAMS has raised more than $2 million in an effort to fund important research that may one day lead to a cure for MS.
