Clay Walker will receive the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s highest honor, the MS Hope Award, for outstanding civic and community service. The Dinner of MS Champions will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Tickets are $200 per person.
The committee is comprised of Tom Corley, Kyle Frederick, Mark Fry, Tatum Hauck, Paul Lindsley, Angela Morton, Kevin Poff, Curt Walsh, Kirt Webster, and Jeremy Westby. All proceeds will go towards funding for local client programs and national research focused on finding the cause and cure for MS.
Since 1996 when diagnosed with MS, Clay has chose to focus on getting the most out of everything he can do, rather than dwell on what he can’t do. Clay’s commitment to humanitarian endeavors demonstrates his selflessness and dedication to others and we want to lead the effort to recognize his many accomplishments in the fight against MS.
The National MS Society is the only national voluntary health agency in the United States supporting worldwide research to fund the cause of, a cure for and a means of preventing MS, as well as more effective treatments to alleviate its symptoms. Locally, the Mid South Chapter serves over 7,200 people with MS. Nationwide, over 400,000 people have been diagnosed with MS.
“Clay Walker is committed to providing education about MS and funding research toward a cure,” said Mid South Chapter President, Jim Ward. “His dedication will help us toward achieving our mission - to end MS.”
